New Hair Style

Like my new hair? I'm not quite so sure about it myself.

This past weekend, a lot happened. Daddy had to go to Fort Wayne for 3 days to help one of his friends whose mommy died. That was sad and I missed him a lot. But it was fun when he came home because he brought me presents - a shirt and a pretend cell phone that makes lots of noises. It's cool, but I still like Daddy and Mommy's cell phones better than mine.

On Saturday, while Daddy was gone, I went up to the lake and rode on a boat with Mommy and Uncle Silas and Aunt SaraBeth and some of their friends. For awhile it was fun, but I got tired of wearing my big bulky life jacket.

Babu and Nana and Auntie Anna came home this weekend. I was excited to see them get off the plane at the airport. Babu took me up to the lake again on Monday while we waited for Daddy to get home. I had more fun the second time.

This week we're getting ready to go to the beach, so I'm helping Mommy shop and wash all the clothes so we can pack. I don't know what the beach is, but Daddy and Mommy say I'll like it. We'll see...Mommy said she'll make a post next week if she can find somewhere to use the internet at the beach. If not, I'll tell you all about my week when I get home. Goodbye!

It's been a busy week for us...looking at apartments and houses to rent. So far - no luck, so please keep praying that we'll find somewhere soon.

A few days ago, it was like someone turned a switch on Christopher labeled "talk." He babbles constantly at 90 miles an hour...all through the grocery store, at the doctor's office, and even when he's trying to eat. We think it's adorable! =) He's working on sitting up...he lasts about 30 seconds before toppling to one side or the other.

Last week, I was working at the computer, and Christopher was banging on the desk and pulling at my papers. A few minutes later, I noticed he was still. I glanced down and saw this...

...sound asleep with his head on the desk.

Our ridiculously cute "little duck" playing with his stuffed duck that makes a quacking noise. He loves it.

I don't remember who sent us this outfit, so if you read this, let us know by publishing a comment. It's cute...thanks!

Naptime with Daddy. My two boys, sound asleep on the couch. Christopher still loves to snuggle for naps. He'll sleep at the most 20 minutes in his crib, but up to 1 1/2 hours if someone is holding him.

New Cousin

Welcome to "Aaron David, Rachel's cousin's son," Isaiah Aaron Tolan. Christopher now has a playmate - as soon as they both get a little bigger. Isaiah was born just before 9 pm last night, here in Johnson City. Aaron and Faith (Isaiah's new Daddy and Mommy) are doing well, just a little tired...or so they think! =) They'll learn a new definition of tired very soon.

Proud cousins holding each other's sons. What little miracles! Thank you, Jesus.

First Mother's Day

I love being a mommy! God has truly blessed me with wonderful son of whom I am very proud. Andy and Christopher took me out to eat on Mother's day, then gave me a few gifts and we relaxed at home. It was nice.

Here's me and my boy on Mother's day.

PRESENTS!!!! =)

Andy went camping with his brothers, Si and Tony, and another friend this weekend. They went backpacking in Virginia and had a great time. SaraBeth, Christopher and I drove down to South Carolina for my cousin Mark's graduation. We had fun with uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents.

Christopher has found his feet in the last week. He works hard to get them into his mouth.

"Ok, Mommy, I'm ready. Change my diaper, please."

He has also found his thumb..."mmm...this is good, great-Grandma."

Naptime with great-Grandpa.

Christopher also LOVES to eat...his list of foods now include rice, apples, bananas, peas and prunes. He opens his mouth wide and pounds on his high chair tray for more. A little piggy!

Visitors

This past weekend, Andy's Dad and his cousin, "Uncle" Rick came to visit us. We had a wonderful time. They arrived Friday afternoon and ate supper with my family. After dinner, we went to check into the only available hotel in Johnson City due to it being graduation weekend, and found hair and dirt in the beds. So we drove to Bristol, about 45 min from here, and found them a hotel for the night. On Saturday, we went antique shopping in Bristol. Christopher enjoyed looking at everything in the stores - so much new stuff to see. Saturday evening, we drove back to Johnson City and ate at our new favorite restaurant, "Cootie Brown's." Delicious food! Come visit and we'll take you there to eat.

On Sunday, we said bye to lots of people: Dad and Uncle Rick drove home, and Daddy, Mama and Anna Leigh flew to Kenya! We're "house-sitting" for them while they're gone for the next 3 weeks. During that time, we'll be hunting for an apartment to move into for awhile until our house sells and we find a new one to buy, so please pray that all that goes well. Thanks!
