Pending!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Praise the Lord we had an offer on our house that we accepted yesterday. The people want to close in two weeks, so we're asking for your prayers that everything goes smoothly through then and that we are able to finally sell this house!

Christopher enjoyed Valentine's Day - he received a package in the mail, with clothes, a basketball net and balls some candy (which Mommy and Daddy ate)...

...and a card that shows what Papa and Gramma think of him. Thank you, Papa and Gramma.

We had a fun weekend. Andy and Christopher spent the day together on Saturday while I worked. They
had fun running errands, furniture shopping (we got a new couch!) and playing at home.
That evening, Andy was doing some push-ups, and Christopher decided that looked like something fun for him to do too. It was pretty cute.

He would squat/kneel down...

...then push his little bottom up into the air to complete his "push-up." Priceless!

Later, he had a guitar lesson from Daddy. He didn't think it sounded quite right, so decided to try to tune it himself.

We're glad it's finally starting to warm up a little. Christopher and I enjoyed several long walks this past week. He walked an entire mile - almost all the way to Babu and Nana's house, and then part of the way back too. First, he had a stone that he kept picking up and throwing in front of him, then going to get it and throwing it again. Then, we switched to a stick that we threw and chased for about 1/4 - 1/2 mile. It was pretty funny. It's such a joy to be able to spend all this quality time with our son. We are so blessed - God has given us a precious gift!

Flying the Kite

It was finally almost warm enough to be outside again on Saturday. We packed up our kites, called some friends, and headed for the park. We had a great time - it was quite windy, and really made it fun to fly the kites. On Andy's first attempt with the big one, a strong gust of wind caught the kite and it drug him head over heels and rolling sideways about 50 yards. Needless to say, he was a little sore after that one. The wind calmed down after that episode.

Silas' girlfriend, Mollie, flying the kite. (Sorry for the bad picture - I didn't realize the camera was set to full manual. Oops.)

One of our great friends, Esther, standing with Rachel and Christopher, watching the kite-flying. Esther graduated from RVA, and her husband Josh works with Andy. We had never met previously. Crazy small world!

Josh tackles the task of controlling the kite in the wind.

Esther's turn. She and I enjoyed the smaller kite - it didn't drag us anywhere, and it was more fun to zip across the sky and do tricks.

The littlest kite-flyer. Christopher LOVED watching the kites in the sky, but he was really enthused when he actually got to help Mommy fly it.

Canning Fruit

We had a fun weekend. Grandma Steury boxed up a bunch of grapefruits and tangerines from Grandpa's trees in their yard, and shipped them to us so they wouldn't go to waste. Talk about delicious! There were way too many for us to eat before they rotted, so we decided to try our hand at canning fruit.

Here's Christopher, helping sort the tangerines from the grapefruit...nope...just kidding...more like helping to soften them up as he threw them on the floor! Thanks for the "balls" Gigi!

Our finished product - looks delicious!

Sunday we enjoyed the afternoon playing outside. We took Christopher to the playground at the nearby elementary school. He loved the "side" "sing" and "paying" in the tunnel. Then we walked to Babu and Nana's house - Christopher rode up high on Daddy's shoulders, pointing at all the "tas cans" and "woks" (trashcans and rocks). It was refreshing to be outside in the brisk air and enjoy lots of laughter as a family.
